Virtual Machines Make Sure You Never Lose A File You Need

Rollback RX is software that uses very simple and effective techniques to restore systems to a usable state, or a preferred state. This ability allows users to completely fix their PC, removing malware and other malicious entities and bringing the PC back to a specified point in time.

What does this mean to all the files you created or added in between the restore snapshot and now? If you restore it and leave these files, they will be gone. What is the Rollback RX solution to this problem?
Virtual Machine capability within each snapshot!
It’s very easy with Rollback RX to access the virtual drive of a snapshot. Then, simply drag/drop or copy the files over from your current drive into the Virtual Machine’s drive. This literally throws your files back in time and has them ready in the snapshot you wish to revert to.

Let’s finish this blog post with an example:

Frank is a high-ranking executive at a large corporation. One of his employees recommended he download a particular program in order to learn Spanish, because the South American division of his company is coming to visit their headquarters in the U.S. where Frank works.

The language education software Frank downloaded turned out to be a host for an extremely malicious type of malware that took several days to root itself so deep into his PC that it became unusable. Frank listened to the advice of his employees about these programs before, so this wasn’t the first risky thing he downloaded.

Michael from the company’s IT department took a look at Frank’s PC and concluded that the only way for Frank to fix this issue is to completely reformat it. Luckily for Frank, the company purchased Rollback RX and by default every company computer had an original restore snapshot from when the Windows OS was first installed! Michael tells Frank this, and says he will restore Frank’s PC to its original state, fixing all of the problems piled on from months of usage. However, Frank is worried. He is halfway through writing a massive business plan and he can’t afford to lose it. He almost forgot about it! What if his computer gets restored and he forgot to back up his work?

Michael’s solution is simple. He opens up the PC’s first snapshot and accesses its virtual machine. Then, he finds the files Frank wants, and simply drags them into the virtual machine’s files in the same place. Then, he activates the roll back! Boom! Frank’s PC is clean, and his business plan is in the “same” folder as it was before the restore happened! No mess, no fuss, no worries. Frank is then able to complete his business plan and Michael gets a promotion, finally allowing him to get some fresh air upstairs and have a window in his office. Everyone is happy.

Hold the reins of your work life and control your own data

These days if your computer gets infected with a virus, Windows crashes, or you have some other related issues you can easily find lots of local PC repair shops that will be happy to take a few hundred dollars to simply repair your Windows system files. Or they may a few hundred more to extract data from your harddrive, reimage your machine with a fresh install of Windows, and return your data back onto your harddrive. Imagine that you could get the same result yourself for a lot less money!
The best PC protection software for quickly recovering from most common PC issues that I've ever come across is called Rollback Rx. I've used it for a few years now and have to say that it's the easiest way to instantly recover your PC from any software-related issue. This means accidentally erased files, installed software, downloaded spyware, driver conflicts, adware, viruses, Trojan horses, worms, OS stability issues, Windows boot failures, etc. With RollBack Rx you don’t have to be a professional computer certified repairman to be able to fix any of these serious computer problems. Even if you're a novice, you can quickly repair any of these computer issues in just a few seconds. Rollback Rx is an easy-to-understand instant PC backup and restore software that lets you save time, money, and computer headaches when it comes to maintaining your personal system.

Rollback Rx uses patented sector-mapping technology to protect your system. It gives you complete control over your own data. There's nothing more irritating than having to deal with regular Windows or malware issues when you have deadlines to meet. You can't then afford to have your machine in the shop for extended periods of time and prying eyes perusing your personal data.

RollBack Rx vs. Windows System Restore

At this point you might ask: But doesn't Windows System Restore already do this? No, actually, it doesn't. Windows System Restore only backs up Windows System files and only backs up some of your personal files in its Volume shadow copy such as recently opened documents. Windows System Restore (and also Windows Refresh and Reset in Windows 8) does not back up all your personal documents, financial files, vacation photos, music, family videos, email contacts, and so forth. RollBack Rx is the best available alternative to Windows System Restore. You need a personal backup to ensure that you don't lose any of your personal data and RollBack Rx is the best available today bar none.

RollBack Rx vs. Traditional Backup

The reason most people don't have a disaster recovery software installed on their systems is because of the time involved, the extensive processing power that it requires, and the enormous space it takes up on your harddrive. With most backup you need to leave your computer on overnight to create a backup. So this means that the backup point, if you bother to create one, is going to be well out-of-date if you should suddenly find that you need to resort to it. Now imagine that you could create this backup point in a second or two. That's what RollBack does; by default, it creates a new snapshot on the first boot-up of the day and you won't even notice the extra second or so that Windows takes to start-up. In that extra moment you've just backed-up everything on your system. And each snapshot only takes up less than one percent of your harddisk capacity.

Since RollBack Rx works outside and independently of Windows, you can create snapshots and even rollback your system even if Windows doesn't start. And you don't need to revert your entire system back to an earlier snapshot in order to get hold of any files (or versions of files) that were accidentally deleted or changed. Simply right-click on any one of hundreds of snapshots and choose "Explore." Then you can drag-and-drop the documents onto your current desktop.

All this means that you'll never again need to make a trip to your local PC service centre!

Recovery solution that rollbacks life

To paraphrase Machiavelli, when a computer infection appears it's often difficult to detect but usually easy to remove. When the infection has progressed into a malignant system state it's easy to detect but difficult to remove. Anti-virus programs simply attempt to quarantine programs containing certain flagged code or attempt to patch after-the-fact using newer definitions of disallowed applications in their current ban lists. If the infection type is new then, of course, these anti-virus programs completely fail to detect any such viruses, trojan horses, worms, etc. which frequently and easily evade discovery. Malware applications also seem to require an update with newest definitions almost every day if not every hour! New viruses, worms, spyware, adware, rootkits, keyloggers, dialers, spyware, etc. seem to pop up every day. And doing a complete system scan is a very time-consuming task that very few users regularly undertake as they should. But anti-malware utilities give a false sense of security as many of these new intrusion attempts are successful in bypassing all such cybersecurity measures. Is then there some last resort malware removal utility that would be able to recover if the cybersecurity solution lets a cyberattack through? There is! It's called RollBack Rx.

RollBack Rx is Just What the Doctor Ordered

The RollBack Rx system restore software prevents data loss, up to the second in which the system crash. By default, RollBack Rx will create a new snapshot in the background when your system starts up. You won't even notice the extra second or two Windows takes to startup. You've just created a recent reset point to return to without any trouble at all! When you restore your entire system back to any one of these hundreds of snapshots, a clean system state -- exactly how the system was when the snapshot was taken -- is what your computer returns to. All infections are completely removed. RollBack Rx is even able to recover from the Cryptolocker ransomware!

Let's suppose you'd like to know what exactly got backed-up on a particular snapshot. Is there some way of seeing what was backed up without having to return the entire system back to that point in time? Yes, you can explore any one of these snapshots and you can even drag-and-drop any documents you need from the snapshot onto your current desktop. You can even recover accidentally deleted files.

RollBack Rx vs. Windows System Restore

RollBack Rx is the best available alternative to Windows System Restore because RollBack Rx doesn't differentiate between what files to protect. It simply backs-up everything on your system. Windows System Restore takes up about a quarter of your hard drive and only backs-up Windows System files. Windows Refresh and Reset for Windows 8 arent' much better. Once the space allocated to Windows System Restore has been used up, it starts over-writing older restore points. RollBack Rx takes up much less hard disk space and let's you micromanage the snapshots, define the snapshot-taking trigger, and so much more!

RollBack Rx, unlike all other competitors (Windows System Restore included), doesn't duplicate or back-up any data on your hard drive in the traditional sense. As opposed to RollBack Rx With traditional backup methods, if you need to backup a megabyte you're going to need a megabyte of hard disk space on which to store it (or, using the best compression available, about half the original data size). RollBack Rx, on the other hand, takes snapshots of all the sectors (just the zeros and ones) which for each snapshot is typically in the range of about 0.07% of the hard disk capacity. This means that you can have many hundreds of snapshots of your system to recover to or just recover specific documents from.

Immunize Your System against System Crashes

With a single reboot, RollBack Rx can perform an instant PC restore, taking you back to a safe system state. RollBack Rx will completely restore up to four internal hard drives on a bit-for-bit basis back to how they were when the snapshot was taken. With traditional backup technology as opposed to roll back technology, it can take several hours to repair such common PC problems as virus infections. RollBack Rx is unique in that it can restore computer and user settings, applications and all data in spite of possible Windows system file corruptions. RollBack Rx works completely independently of the Windows operating system. You can even select which specific folders you would like to be backed-up.

Optimized marketing through optimized websites

Businesses face difficulties and the managers have to work hard to make things happen. Any and every business faces challenges that threaten to disrupt activity on a routine basis. Challenges that might overwhelm some and ignite the desire to win in someone else. Challenges such as these distinguish the brave and the resolute from those who were proved lacking. Every company wants to project this image. Every company wants to be perceived as one run by brave strong willed people who will go the distance. Who will make the decisions that need to be made for the greater good. People who will work hard to keep a promise made because the word of that man is his honour. Dealing with such businesses and such people is always a pleasure. Dealing with such people is reassuring and comforting.

To put forth this impression on a routine basis is indeed very difficult and will require lots of efforts. Attracting visitors and spectators on a routine basis and delivering the same performance over and over again without making mistakes is also very difficult because people these days find businesses on the internet searching for business on Google. To be able to do so we need a marketing machinery that can adapt according to any and every situation. We need to be able to project the same idea on the fly. The whole process should not take too long because it will need to be repeated on a regular basis many times. The whole idea is to be able to direct the flow of visitors towards the proposition. The proposition that will appeal to people and will compel them to think longer and harder about it.

The company website is the only such place that will allow you to make the visitor believe that you are willing to work hard in the face of uncertainty. On the company website will appear the message which will remain constant and uniform. The company will be able to table its proposition in front of thousands of prospective clients and customers. For this page to actually convert to business however the business needs to optimize the message for the visitors using search engines like Google so much that it becomes very easy to find no matter what. Doing this might not always be possible without professional help one can lean on to take the right decisions for search engine optimization that do not readily become apparent to everybody but are still very important for search engine rankings and for the business to attract clients and customers.

SEO optimized content will help businesses generate awareness that they need to find a footing in an extremely competitive global market in which democratized services are not hard to find and differentiated services cannot be offered in appealing packages. SEO optimized content can lend the final push the company proposition needs to compete globally in a market in which brand loyalty and customer loyalty cannot be achieved easily and even if once achieved cannot be maintained sufficiently long. Sealing deals in such a market is going to be difficult and SEO optimized content is going to help businesses in becoming easy to find.

An end to data loss

Your data on your PC is invaluable. If you should experience computer issues you could well lose many hours or days of work. You might think that Windows System Restore is an option in case you do experience issues or need to recover your documents. But while Windows System Restore can recover system files, it can't help you recover data. RollBack Rx is a more robust utility and backs up everything and can help you recover even if Windows becomes corrupted. The reason for this is that RollBack Rx has a pre-Windows, basic input/output boot-up console that sits below Windows. This sub-console lets you roll back to any of your many snapshots (restore points) and return to an earlier point in time before any issue appeared. And you don’t have to lose any data you were working on right up to the second your experienced the issue. Windows System Restore (or Reset and Refresh in Windows 8) is not nearly as reliable, robust, or comprehensive.
Have Your Systems Back Up and Running Within Seconds
Today's corporate environment is very demanding and requires that your computers always be functioning optimally. Downtime means that extra staff and resources are being allocated to unnecessary support tickets and your employees are forced to be unproductive. Maintaining a network of systems is a challenging activity for PC support groups with so many demands on their time. With keeping up with the latest intrusion methods, new viruses, new software updates, intellectual property issues, etc. arising regularily its difficult for system administrators to keep up. As if that were not enough, have a robust disaster recovery solution and having recent backups is a mission critical concern. This is where Rollback Rx is an indispensable lifeline for your busy IT administration staff. For example, if your systems are down because of a virus attack, with conventional methods this could well mean that your systems may be down for many hours. But with Rollback Rx, you can be back up and running within a few seconds.
Updating programs in trouble free manner

Keeping your operating system and your applications up-to-date on a regular basis can be a huge hassle. This can also be risky as some patches may not be compatible. But RollBack Rx lets you test your new application updates before you commit to them. With Rollback, patch testing and patch debugging become a simple process. You don’t even have to fix computer problems with a restore after each patch test. If you discover a week later that there's an issue with the new patch you can simply rollback to the point before the patch. This snapshot approach helps spot problems across the whole network.

Viruses, malware, spyware, worms, trojans, and other intruders are the bane of networks on the Internet. With pop-ups and identity theft occurring all the time, you face the constant risk of an errant click crashing your system. As a system administrator, with Rollback Rx software you can cleanly and completely back-out of any troubled patch or system update with a quick rollback, avoiding irreversible damage. RollBack Rx is the best Deep Freeze alternative available today.

Comodo Time Machine (CTM) Alternative System Restore Software

In its heyday, called Comodo Time Machine (CTM) was state-of-the-art instant snapshot creation software. It took a second or two to make a snapshot backup of everything on the system. And you could save thousands of these snapshots on your computer. It used to rollback everything on the hard drive to any of these earlier available snapshots with a single ordinary reboot. It worked even if Windows failed to start up. You didn't even need to revert your entire system back to an earlier snapshot to recover specific files or folders. You could simply explore a snapshot like you would any other Windows folder and simply drag-and-drop any particular data from the snapshot onto your current desktop. But Comodo Time Machine didn't support Windows 7 or Windows 8. And unfortunately, it also doesn't seem to be available for download any more. So, many people have been looking for software program similar to Comodo Time Machine. Comodo Time Machine was the best replacement of Windows System Restore. It was the fastest and most reliable system restore software bar none!

It turns out that Comodo Time Machine was a rebrand of Horizon DataSys' RollBack Rx v8. A much improved version of RollBack Rx is actually available today which updates Comodo Time Machine to support Windows 7 and Windows 8 and multiple harddrives. In fact, Rollback v10.2 is the nearest thing to a Time Machine for PCs available today. But Rollback is much quicker and more comprehensive than Time Machine. You can use Rollback as a full reset to that exact point in time when that snapshot was taken in just a few seconds. You can roll backwards and forwards to any system snapshot! If you accidentally delete a file or if a file gets corrupted, RollBack Rx's real-time data protection will recover any version of any file at any time with a few quick clicks and totally eliminates the risk of data loss.

Many people rely on virus removal to recover in case of a malware attack. But virus removal entails detecting and isolating known threats. Such programs generally require you to update your virus definitions almost every hour. In fact, many such anti-virus utilities even fail to detect many common viruses, trojans, worms, etc. hidden in packaged files until it’s too late. So such internet security applications give a false sense of security. But with RollBack Rx you can simply return your system --- on a bit-for-bit basis -- back to how it was before any such file corruption occurred. In fact, many users have reported that RollBack Rx is able to completely recover from Cryptolocker and return your PC back to an earlier snapshot before this ransomware Troject ever appeared and then simply browse the infected snapshot to see if any files can be recovered. RollBack allows you to instantaneously recovery from virus attacks by simply rolling back with a single restart.

Should you experience Incidental System Degradation slowing down your system, rolling back to an earlier snapshot is the fastest way to significantly improve and optimize your PC system performance. With regular use -- installing and uninstalling programs, adding and removing new drivers, moving data around, etc. -- over time you'll still find that your Windows installation taking a little longer to start up, run, perform tasks, and shut down. RollBack allows you to return to an earlier snapshot without losing any of the current changes you've made to your system.

Hard Drive Recovery Cards

Hard drive recovery cards were a common harddisk recovery method a few years ago at many networked computer environments. Harddrive recovery cards were physically attached to the public access computers and effected a simple reset back to an unalterable system state on every bootup. The impetus behind recovery cards was the automatic removal of inadvertent or intentional changes made by public users on multi-user PCs such as at libraries, hotels, classroom labs, internet cafes, et cetra. Recovery cards simplified public access computer management by returning the machines back to a consistent system configuration (called the "baseline") pre-defined by the network manager. The biggest problem with this hardware-driven approach to freeze the public machines was that there wasn't very much customization possible once the machines were set up. The recovery card firmware was hard-coded onto the actual card. This meant that the machines returned to a pre-programmed baseline setting, not to an up-to-date baseline including the latest Windows updates and new program updates.

But now there are software alternatives that can be used very much like those outdated hard drive recovery cards but which can be also be updated regularly to incorporate the latest anti-malware definitions, application updates, and Windows patches. There's a freeware solution that does essentially this from Horizon DataSys called Reboot Restore Rx. Reboot Restore Rx is a robust reboot-to-restore software that can do everything those obsolete recovery cards used to do without any of the associated problems. Like recovery cards, Reboot Restore Rx write-protects the harddrive. And since Reboot Restore Rx is a software-based hard drive restore, you can temporarily suspend the restore and update the restore point to incorporate the latest Windows and program updates. Reboot Restore Rx is a non-restrictive restore technology that lets administrators give their public users full admin privileges even while allowing them to recover from deleted system files, virus infections, system crashes, or worse.

If you need more functionality, another software-based recovery solution to consider is Drive Vaccine. Drive Vaccine is an instant restore PC software that can effect a much more robust, quicker, and more efficient restore capability than recovery cards and also even allows you to restore back to an earlier baseline. Drive Vaccine comes with a free central management utility for controlling your entire public networked machines from a single interface.

Website do much better with great SEO

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the method of improving your websites ranking in search engines for key words, or key phrases that are relevant to your business, the higher up in Google you are, then the more visitors you will bring to your website, the more visitors that you bring to your website, the more customers you have and the more sales you can make.
The whole purpose of your website is to bring in clients and customers, or too sell products from your website, in order to do this people need to be able to find your website, if you are at page 20 for a search term then it is unlikely the customers you wish to attract will make it all the way to page 20 to find your website.
This means that your competitors are picking up your customers! If your competitor is at ranked at number one for the keywords that relate to your business it is likely they will be taking your customers away from you.
You may be a the owner of an firm of electricians, employing 50 electricians, all with up to date training, operating with the latest tools and equipment, you may have spent thousands of pounds on a website.
There could be a one man band, with no qualifications, which has spent 200 on a website, but invested in search engine optimization for their website, they could be picking up work that should logically be picked up by your company.
Search Engine Optimization is also a way to give your company additional credibility, if you are an electrician trying to pick up a contract then it is likely that your customer will Google electricians in your local area, if you are towards the top of Google it will give them the confidence to award the project to your company.

Computer Backup Best Practices - Why RollBack is Better than Traditional Backup

Most of us never realize how valuable and extensive all the data we save on our computers is until one day when our system crashes and we face the possibility of losing it all. One errant click could wipe out a critical document, a malware infection could cause us to lose many months of work; and a single Windows-related issue could destroy all the data on your hard drive. This is why it's so important to have a disaster recovery plan in case of such contingencies.

With traditional backup technology there's always a trade-off between the amount of data to be backed up and how long the backup process will take. Since the backups are about as large as the disk storage space taken up by the original data (even using the best compression available) there's a limit on how long these inordinately large backup images can be kept before they're replaced with more recent backups. If you're using an imaging product for backing-up you'll typically find that in order to back up 150 Gb of data you'll be creating a full-backup image of about 70 GB in size (at the best possible compression rate) and it takes about a minute per GB to save. That's already 70 to 90 minutes! Worse, even if you resolve to back up regularly you may go lengthy periods between backups. But there’s a better way.

Further, Windows System Restore isn't an option since it can only help you recover Windows System files and not your personal documents, vacation photos, spreadsheets, e-mail addresses, financial information, et cetra. RollBack Rx, on the other hand, is the best alternative to Windows System Restore on the market today. RollBack Rx creates complete data backup copies of every last file and folder on your harddrive and can capture all the changes made to even the largest hard drives available today in a second or two (on most systems). And RollBack allows you to customize how the snapshot-taking are triggered, the resources they occupy on your system, how long they're retained, et cetra. Each snapshot takes up less than 1% of the harddrive and many thousands of such snapshots can be inventoried. These recovery points are encrypted sector maps of everything on your machine; Windows System files, your personal documents, spreadsheets, Outlook contacts, vacation photos, et cetra; in short, everything on your harddrive, right down to the icons on your desktop. RollBack Rx seamlessly integrates with Windows to crash-proof your computer.

If you accidentally delete a file, download a virus, experience the infamous Windows Blue Screen of Death, or even if Windows fails to boot-up you can still fix any such issue by going back in time. With RollBack Rx, the PC Time Machine, simply rollback to an earlier snapshot. RollBack Rx turns these common everyday system issues into minor inconveniences rather than catastrophic occurrences. You need simply restart the computer into the RollBack Rx pre-Windows subsystem and rollback. That's it! When the PC reboots it'll return to exactly the same state the machine was in when the snapshot was taken. Once you've rolled back to an earlier snapshot, you can then recover any lost data that you may have been working on prior to experiencing issues.

Data recovery is super-fast and painless. Simply browse a more recent snapshot and drag-and-drop files and folders onto your current desktop. Having RollBack Rx installed is like having a safety net that allows you a more carefree computing experience and not worry about whether your critical data is safe. RollBack Rx ends the risk of data loss.

Software similar to Goback for Windows 8

Norton GoBack is a legacy product that's no longer available in the open market. Noton's software has also traded under the names Roxio Goback, Adaptec Goback, among others. While GoBack isn’t available for Windows 8 there is a similar product called Comodo Time Machine. Goback is a partial static disaster recovery solution but it did have a subsystem console to recover in case windows failed to startup. Since Goback takes up a buffer space of about 20-30% of the harddisk capacity, it can only be used for the creation of occasional backup points. When the buffer space of GoBack is full, it starts to delete its earlier checkpoints and its storage of earlier data. GoBack software also replaces the partition table with a single partition.

RollBack Rx is, by comparison, a dynamic and complete system and data backup and restore solution. RollBack Rx is the only system restore software that can reasonably be called an instant PC restore solution. It only takes RollBack Rx a few seconds to capture a four terabyte harddrive (on most systems). RollBack Rx's snapshots can be taken manually, on a fixed schedule, or be triggered by system events. RollBack Rx’s patented sector-mapping technology means that each snapshot takes up roughly 0.07% of the available storage capacity of the available hard disk (but this depends on the incremental changes made since the previous snapshot) and as many as 60,000 snapshots can theoretically be had/inventoried. Use of minimal system resources means RollBack Rx can capture the state of your PC more often even while using less harddrive space.

If you’re looking for a GoBack software alternative then you should take a look at RollBack Rx. RollBack Rx is the quickest and most comprehensive system restore software in the market these days. Background backups with GoBack will more often than not lead to slowdowns in other computing tasks. If you'd like a full backup you'll have to leave your computer turned-on overnight, and, this will require about a quarter of your harddrive. RollBack Rx, by contrast, is an instant backup option. Rollback Rx won't interrupt your work or gameplay for that matter. RollBack Rx is the Time Machine for Windows PCs.

Windows System Restore alternative

Time Machine is a backup and restore utility that's included on Apple Macs. The Apple Time Machine utility allows for a more carefree use of Macs with its assurance that you'll be able to recover from most common computing issues. Most people think that the closest thing to the Apple Time Machine for PCs is Windows System Restore. But there is a better alternative for Windows-based systems.

RollBack Rx is the equivalent of Time Machine for PCs. But RollBack Rx, you will find, is actually better than Apple's Time machine in the following ways:

1.) RollBack Rx, you will find, is much quicker. RollBack Rx can archive the entire contents of up to four hard-drives in a few seconds. Since Apple’s Time Machine uses imaging technology it would take it many hours to backup a single 4 TB hard drive. RollBack Rx, on the other hand, is an instant backup and recovery software.

2.) Horizon DataSys' patented sector-mapping technology allows each RollBack Rx snapshot to take up less than one percent of your hard drive. This means that you can have many thousands of snapshots instead of a single restore point.

3.) You don't need to revert your entire computer to that earlier instance of your machine to recover specific files and folders. With RollBack Rx you simply open up any of your snapshots and drag-and-drop the files/folders onto your current desktop. This ensures that with RollBack Rx you'll never lose another file that will bring business to a standstill again.

For most conscientious users who bother to do backups at all, it's a tedious but necessary chore. More often than not it's also treated as a last-resort fall back strategy for that once-in-a-blue-moon rare instance in which you accidentally delete an important file or suffer a catastrophic virus infection. But RollBack Rx automatically takes a snapshot on the first boot of the day and you won't even notice this extra second or two Windows takes to boot up. RollBack Rx also allows you a lot more customization options on how snapshots are created and how many are archived.

RollBack Rx is a much better option, as you will see for yourself when you use it, than Windows System Restore (or even the Windows 8’s Reset and Refresh options). Windows System Restore can only recover Windows System Files and some program files. RollBack Rx is a much more complete PC Time Machine solution that protects the entire contents of your hard drive. It instantly restores everything, not just the system files. Moreover, if you experience the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) or if Windows is not booting up, RollBack Rx can still rescue you from this disaster. If Windows cannot boot-up, System restore will not be accessible. But with RollBack Rx you can recover files even from a crashed computer state and all this can be done within mere seconds! Crash-proof your computer by installing RollBack Rx today. RollBack Rx doesn't discriminate against what is and what isn't backed-up. It simply backs-up everything!

Concerning public access Windows "PCs"

Many public networks in schools, libraries, computer labs, kiosks, internet cafes, etc. Have to regularly deal with unintentional changes to the desktop appearance, reconfigured system settings, unwanted software installations, virus infections, and so forth. But such institutions cannot dedicate limited resources for regular manual rebuilds, snap images of the machines, or otherwise troubleshoot such issues. Also, the Windows system will experience incidental system degradation, that is, inevitable degradation of performance over time. Eventually, these systems will require the occasional reinstallation of Windows from scratch.

One affordable alternative for a lot of these problems is the use of desktop lockdown software, limiting the users' Windows accounts to restrict access to many functions such as the Registry Editor, Task Manager, and Control Panel. Limiting Windows privileges makes PC management easier but would necessarily also eliminate useful Windows functionality and constrains the users' productivity.

There used to be a free solution offered by Microsoft called SteadyState (or Shared Computer Toolkit) which provided teachers, librarians, and other non-technical staff an easy data recovery solution to administer method for reconfiguring public access computers to regularly return to a baseline state. But using SteadyState was cumbersome. The system which involved many unnecessary complexities and hassles and not very appropriate for staff members who lacked the technical training or wherewithal to acquaint themselves with Group Policies, Active Directory, Windows Server Update Services, et cetra, et cetra,... Perhaps, due to the low uptake of SteadyState and the servicing headaches it involved, Microsoft discontinued offering SteadyState in 2010. So what’s the best SteadyState alternative available today?

If you’re looking for freeware that acts as replacement for Steady State by Microsoft look no further. Reboot Restore Rx is a freeware for removing unwanted changes that users may have made on public access machines. Reboot Restore Rx simply wipes the system of all the changes any user may have made during their session and returns to a clean slate of Windows. So it would be ideal if after one public user has ended the session and the next user logs on, the machines would automatically return to a baseline. That’s exactly what it does! Reboot Restore Rx simplifies PC management by automating the process of maintaining a consistent computer baseline by reverting the Pcs back to a pristine condition, discarding any software downloads, virus infections, or other changes made by the public user. Reboot Restore Rx essentially write-protects the hard drive so that any changes made by the user are discarded on restart. With Reboot Restore Rx installed users are free to attempt to hack the registry, infect the computer with malware, delete system files, etc. And the computer will still return to its predefined working state on every reboot. Since Reboot Restore Rx is a non-restrictive restore technology it doesn’t limit your public users’ Windows functionality and allows you to grant them all admin privileges.

Conventional Backup or RollBack. What is the difference?

A strategic disaster recovery plan for critical enterprise data is a . Service disruptions with all their attendant impact on everyday business activity, lost revenues, frustrated customers, employee productivity losses, angry incoming calls to the helpdesk, and so forth are easily avoided with a secure, up-to-date data storage system. Yet most businesses don't have such a contingency plan in place because traditional backup and recovery is very time-consuming. Even users who resolve to back-up regularly may go on working for lengthy periods between backups. But the usefulness of your recovery option or recovery plan is only as good as the last time you made your backup image and this typically may well have been a month or more ago. So the age old question is – Which technology is better, traditional data Backup or RollBack?

The practice of imaging is, at best, a last resort solution for the once-in-a-blue-moon occasion when you can’t seem to reset the PC any other way. It’s not a practical solution as most companies seldom get around to making backups. Once a crash occurs, they usually have to resort to a previous backup. Unfortunately, the amount of data lost is proportional to the amount of time that lapsed since the last backup made… Furthermore, recovering specific files and folders is next to impossible when dealing with complete system images. Rollback technology on the other hand delivers a quick bounce back from most of such disasters.

If you’re looking for a PC rollback solution then RollBack Rx is the fastest and most reliable rollback software that I’ve found. It's the only PC backup and recovery software that can reasonably be called an "instant PC backup" solution or an "instant PC recovery" solution.

RollBack Rx seamlessly integrates with Windows to backup every last byte of data on your enterprise systems. Windows system restore only protects Windows System files and some limited installed programs. System Restore doesn't backup your personal vacation photos, work spreadsheets, e-mail contacts, financial data, and so forth. If you're relying on Windows system restore, all this information is vulnerable to a data disaster or catastrophe. RollBack Rx is the Windows System Restore replacement. (or Refresh and Reset in Windows 8) It only takes RollBack Rx a few moments to archive a complete instance of your system state in a "snapshot." As an alternative to Windows System Restore, RollBack Rx allows you to store many thousands of such snapshots.

RollBack Rx gives your staff powerful tools to fix the PCs themselves by going back in time to earlier snapshots rather than having to call technical support. And your help desk no longer has to do manual rebuilds, re-image, or troubleshoot PC-related issues. Software incidents -- from accidentally deleted files, virus infections, the Blue Screen of Death, on up to issues that cause Windows to no longer boot -- are quickly resolved by restoring to snapshots made earlier. And RollBack makes it simple to always have an up-to-date snapshot to restore to. In short, RollBack Rx crash-proofs your computers so that data becomes easily recoverable and the Windows PC is ready for the common problems that occupy your IT staff's time. Most businesses, when they use Rollback Rx, experience a significant uptick in endpoint uptimes and productivity, while drastically reducing support costs.
